Melissa Palmer, PT, DPT

Melissa received her Master of Physical Therapy in 2006 and Doctor of Physical Therapy with honors in 2008 from the Medical College of Georgia. She has a Bachelors degree in Health Science from Bradley University. In high school, Melissa was a member of the award winning dance team as well as a member of her high school’s concert, marching, and pep bands as a flautist. Melissa has sharpened her skills as a manual physical therapist through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA), Integrative Manual Therapy Solutions (IMTS), and Stanley Paris, with advanced training in the spine, pelvis, and lower extremities. She is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Melissa specializes in sports and dance medicine. In 2008, she became the primary physical therapist for Disney's "The Lion King" Gazelle Tour and has since worked on-site at various Broadway shows providing PT coverage through Performing Arts Physical Therapy. Melissa has also worked with dancers from Evidence Dance Company and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Melissa also has extensive experience with marathon runners, tri-athletes, and gymnasts. Melissa is very passionate about the art of healing that physical therapy provides, and in her leisure time, she enjoys volunteering for adaptive sporting events, running, dancing, traveling, and Pilates.
