Kimberly Shemer, DPT
Kimberly Shemer is the Director of Physical Therapy at PAPT.
She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy with honors from the University of Delaware in 2004, where she was a graduate scholar. She has a Bachelors degree with honors in dance from the University of Maryland, College Park, and she graduated from the dance program at a performing arts high school in Baltimore. Kim has 25 years of dance training, with a focus on ballet and modern dance technique and performance. With more than 15 years of vocal and music training, she is an experienced performer in musical theater and she plays several instruments.
Kim began her training in Dance Medicine 8 years ago. With Performing Arts Physical Therapy, Kim has honed her skills as a manual therapist in this field, with advanced training in the spine, pelvis and lower extremity. She currently specializes in dance medicine, music medicine, and pediatrics. She works on-site at various Broadway shows and with the Paul Taylor Dance Company. Additionally, Kim has lectured at the New School and SUNY Stony Brook, and has earned the Authentic Pilates Certification in all apparatuses.
