Karen Kubicina, PT, DPT, ATC

As a high school athlete, Karen fell in love with the practice of athletic training and physical therapy. In 2004, she began spending her summers as a PT aide at one of the Illinois’ premier orthopedics and physical therapy practices in 2004. In 2008, Karen earned her Bachelors of Science in Exercise Science and Athletic Training in 2008 from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. During her time in school, she worked with various sports teams, but dreamed to work with the performing arts.

In 2008, Karen moved to New York to fulfill her dream of gaining her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During school she pursued her dream of working with performing artists by interning in 2008 as an Athletic Trainer with the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. For the 2010 and 2011 seasons, she was brought on staff at Radio City as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, and in 2011 became the first in-house Physical Therapist for the Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes.

In May of 2011, Karen earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Long Island University, earned her license, and immediately started working with PAPT. Throughout her lifetime, she has been involved in musical performance. Although Karen is not a dancer herself, she has dedicated a lot of time to learn about and study dancers. Her knowledge base allows her to take a unique look at the overall person and issue and approach it in her own unique way. Karen possesses good manual skills, is ever eager to learn more, and is constantly seeking out and adding new skills. Karen is excited about working on Broadway!
