Kimberly Shemer, DPT
Kimberly Shemer is the director of physical therapy at PAPT.
She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy with honors from the University of Delaware in 2004, where she was a graduate scholar. She has a Bachelors degree with honors in dance from the University of Maryland, College Park, and she graduated from the dance program at a performing arts high school in Baltimore. Kim has over 20 years of dance training, with a focus on ballet and modern dance technique and performance. With more than 15 years of vocal and music training, she is an experienced performer in musical theater and she plays several instruments.
Kim began her training in Dance Medicine 8 years ago. With Performing Arts Physical Therapy, Kim has honed her skills as a manual therapist in this field, including continuing education in the Mulligan Concept, with Integrative Manual Therapy Solutions, and with the Institute of Physical Arts. She works on-site at various Broadway shows and with the Paul Taylor Dance Company. She is also the pediatric specialist at PAPT and has completed 3 years of intensive work in the Authentic Pilates.
Kim also volunteers at New Dance Group to provide injury screenings for dancers without insurance.
