The Pilates Guild - Insurance Program For Certified Teachers

We are pleased to announce a new insurance program which will be available for individual certified Pilates instructors. The premium is $200 and covers you wherever you may teach (health clubs, dance studios, private homes, etc.) The policy has limits of liability of $1 million per occurrence with $2 million annual aggregate per teacher and includes general liability and professional liability. It also includes sexual abuse/harassment coverage at a sub-limit of $100,000. The deductible is $100 per claim. If a club or studio at which you teach requires to be named on your policy, the "additional insured endorsement" costs $25.

Our new insurance broker is Marcie Cohen McDevitt. She has over 15 years of insurance experience and is involved in body conditioning through her 8 years of yoga. She has dedicated her business to providing insurance for health and fitness practitioners. You may call her for additional information at 973-966-1263 (East Coast time zone). For THE PILATES STUDIO OWNER/OPERATORS: A full insurance package policy will be separately available to cover you for property insurance (on the building and/or the owned contents-exercise apparatus), general liability, and professional liability and will include coverage for employees. The deductible will be $500 on property, zero on general liability, and $500 on professional liability. Studio owners will use a separate application from individual teachers and the premium will be determined by the insurance company based upon estimated annual gross receipts for your location.
