Research
PAPT is committed to researching various
aspects of Physical therapy and how it relates to
performers and non performers and their continued health
and well being. By obtaining empirical evidence that is relevant to the practice
and principles of Performance Medicine, PAPT is a leader in
the field in providing state of the art care to performers and
non-performers. Our goal in developing
research is to provide clients, instructors, physical therapists,
various health professionals, and the general public with
a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of how the Performing
Arts Medicine is in the lead in developing new and progressive
techniques and program for acute injuries as well as the more
common repetitive strain/over use injuries typically seen in
the work place environment as well as how it can impact
your physical health and overall
well-being.
After starting and providing physical
therapy services for the Juilliard school for 6 years PAPT did
research on the effectiveness of it's treatment by doing a
chart review of services provided and outcomes. what we
found is that PT provided by PAPT was able to allow students
to return to performing and resolved their main complaint
almost 80% of the time, with in 4 visits to the physical
therapist.
