Authentic Pilates is the legacy of Joseph Pilates, a visionary instructor in physical conditioning and health. Pilates consists of a series of controlled movements that strengthen the “powerhouse of the anatomy ”: the abdomen, lower back, and buttocks. Pilates is appropriate for anyone who wishes to develop balance and strength, recover from injury, prevent future injury, correct postural deviations, and have fun. Correct form and proper technique are the foundation of Pilates, and the guidance of a certified instructor with extensive training is necessary for a safe and effective practice. PAPT is affiliated with the New York Pilates Studio, home of the Authentic Pilates certification program, considered by most as the gold standard in pilates training.
