Applying for Student Affiliations at Performing Arts Physical Therapy.
Deadline for 2009 clinical education applications is May 1st 2008
Thank you for your interest in Performing Arts Physical Therapy. We value our ability to further your knowledge of the Performing Arts patient population. For almost twenty years, PAPT has taken pride in providing clinical education for students interested in the Performing Arts physical therapy specialty. PAPT is affiliated with physical therapy programs throughout the United States.
We have been accepting physical therapy students at PAPT for over 17 years. Many of our former students now work with major dance companies, performing arts medicine centers, PT clinics and Broadway productions around the country. PAPT has always strived to provide the best education to physical therapy students interested in making dance medicine a career. We normally only take 3 to 5 students a year to ensure that students get the full attention and efforts of our therapists.
All of our interns spend time in the clinic as well as at the theater. We take pride in making sure that all our interns get a balance of hands on manual therapy training as well as dance specific exercise program training developed at PAPT over the last twenty years. All interns will have the ability to develop as dance PT specialists incorporating their dance background and PT background during this affiliation.
You will participate in weekly inservices as well as in practice management and promotion to ensure that you gain a thourough understanding of a small working clinic that specilazes in the performing arts. We have recently switched from paper to a computerized billing, documentation and scheduling system and you will be required to do all your paperwork on this system.
